From Grumpy to Happy. Goodbye Colic!

So we learned that Malachi's reflux contributed largely to his colic.
Not only was his reflux an issue, but also his digestive system seemed to give him a bit of grief.
When his major 3 hour screaming spells eased up, he would wake up 2-3 times a night, completely out of nowhere, and just scream in pain until I soothed him back to sleep.
Then in the morning he would have a major blow out and let out A TON of gas.

Now that he is bigger, and more developed, he doesn't wake up screaming in the night like that very much anymore.
His little bowels have finally grown into that hulk-man appetite!

Speaking of a "hulk-man" appetite...
We recently discovered that a lot of his sucking is actually a symptom of his reflux!
woops!
So he's fat because we figured he was just hungry all of the time.
Not so!
He sucks to relieve the acid coming up his esophagus.
So his weight should level out here within the next month, now that we caught on to the fact that no matter how much he was eating, he was just going to always be sucking those fists.

Now that we have gotten THAT all figured out...
He's just about the happiest baby on the planet and it is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!!!
He smiles and coos CONSTANTLY!
Even in the middle of the night when I am changing his diaper with a cold wipe, he's looking at me and he's smiling and cooing.
It is the cutest dang this ever.
He smiles so much it makes me cry.
It's just so heart warming, my heart can't even take it!

I absolutely adore this boy!!!!
And he brings soooooo much joy into our home!
No matter what is going on, we hear his little voice and we can't help but smile and giggle and talk back to him.
This is just such a magical time for our family and it has been so much fun having him keep the spirits up in our home.

So bye bye colic- good freaking riddance!
And hello happy baby!!!!
